Outline of Course

Supporting young people to develop as artists and arts leaders

Arts Award, endorsed by Arts Council England and run by Trinity College London, is a flexible and completely student centred award that encompasses the Arts as a whole and incorporates performing arts, music, dance as well as visual arts (drawing / painting /ceramics / textiles / sculpture).  There is no final exam for this qualification.

To achieve Bronze, a Level 1 award on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), young people take part in an arts activity they enjoy, go to an arts event, research their arts inspiration and share their skills with others.

Young people need to plan their work with an adviser, and keep a record by creating their own Arts Award portfolio. Their portfolio might be a folder, sketchbook, video diary or a website – it’s up to them.

Bronze award is equivalent to GCSE grade 1-3.
