Thursday 28th Feb was a healthy eating day at Burton PRU!
Students discussed what healthy eating is and learned:
Why eating a balanced and healthy diet is so important
The 7 different food groups
What happens to the body when you are deficient in any of the food groups
Students watched a fast food TV advert and were asked to discuss if it promotes healthy eating. They were then given the ingredients of the meal they were going to cook and were asked to identify the food groups to ensure they were cooking a balanced, healthy, nutritious meal that consists of all food groups.
On the menu was chicken and cheese salad wraps and butterfly cakes.
