About the school

Burton Pupil Referral Unit  (Burton PRU) supports the learning of students who reside in the Burton and East Staffordshire area. It is a Staffordshire Local Authority school which works in close partnership with the schools and the various alternative providers in the area. It currently has its main base in Winshill in Burton and other sites in Burton and Uttoxeter.   Students will have the opportunity to work in each of these areas to achieve the success that they deserve.  We have very good facilities although on a small scale. The classes are small to enable each student to make quick and rapid learning progress in their social and academic studies.

We offer a broad, balanced and flexible academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to all our students and we ensure that they are fully included in all aspects of school life and into their post 16 plans. We believe that everyone has a right to equal opportunities. We have a positive culture and ethos that all students, adults and families should feel welcome and should have an equal chance to benefit from our school and everything that it provides – safeguarding for all. We are committed to giving our students every opportunity to achieve the highest standards including those with diverse needs.

We can only accept students on a referral basis from a Staffordshire Local Authority professional worker or from one of our District Inclusion Partnership (DIP) schools:
